Landing at Klemtu Jan 6 2011

On Thursday Jan 6th I flew into Klemtu to finalize my employment as Controller of the Kitasoo / Xaixais Nation located at Klemtu, BC on the Central Coast. It is at the doorstep of the Great Bear Rain Forest - the home of the white Spirit Bear. On Jan 17th I will fly back in to begin my service to this community. Sandy, my wife will stay in South Surrey. She will retire July 1 and then will be able to come up to enjoy the summer in one of the most beautiful places in the world!

Tide flowing through the little islands - that's the open Pacific to the west
a unique high mound - to be avioded in the cloud and fog!

the whole village of Klemtu with its wonderful natural harbour and large lake to the west. A delightful little creek flows from the lake to the sea splitting the village into north and south areas. My work will be in the Band Office located in the south side.
a better look into the harbour and looking North East to the Finlason Channel of the Inside Passage where the ferries and cruise ships and other commercial traffic sails. I have been told that there are whales there all summer.
